The tour also highlights the wild charms of Yellowstone National Park with overnight stays at the park’s renowned lodges. DAY 1 The fun begins in Salt Lake City

Welcome to Salt Lake City, Utah’s capital. This mountainous city lies between the Great Salt Lake and the Wasatch Range and is well known for skiing, fishing, and it’s Mormon faith. At 6:00 pm, meet your fellow guests and Travel Director at a Welcome Dinner and wine.

DAY 2 Meet Jackson and Grand Teton National Park

As you head north on the Oregon Trail towards Jackson, be sure to have your cameras ready for Temple Square, the State Capital building, and the famous elk antlers. Browse Jackson’s traditional boutiques then head home to relax at the Jackson Lake Lodge to take in the stunning mountain peaks that thrust 6,562 feet upward of Grand Teton National Park.

DAY 3 Yellowstone National Park

The world’s first national park found in Wyoming deserves a couple of days all of its own. As you enter Yellowstone you’ll find spectacular landscapes, a wide assortment of wildlife, and unique geothermal activity found nowhere else on Earth. Guests will stay among the wolves, rams, bears, and elk, at safe distances of course, in the National Park Lodges for night time after hours viewing.

DAY 4  See spectacular geysers and mud pots at Yellowstone

Relax and tour the surreal Yellowstone surroundings with your well-informed Travel Director who will walk you through the rainbow hot springs, erupting geysers, and the colorful bubbling mud pots. Before retiring to your National Park lodge rooms for the night, the group will explore the powerful Lower Yellowstone Falls.

DAY 5 The Ucross Ranch

Day 5 takes you to the wild west town of Cody after traveling through the Shoshone Canyon and the Absaroka Rocky Mountains. Learn all there is to know about the great western legends at the Buffalo Bill Centre, and end the day in Clermont, Wyoming for a ranch style dinner and wine

DAY 6 Devils Tower and Spearfish Canyon

Truly immerse yourself in the American frontier with a scenic horseback ride through the country, fishing, or relaxing and taking in the natural landscaping, you have the freedom to decide how to spend your day in the west. Also available is a visit to Devil’s Tower in the Black Hills, a sacred experience of the Lakota Indians, or Spearfish Canyon, a most favored spot to view wildlife amongst ancient creek-caved gorges that are older than the Grand Canyon.

DAY 7 The Deadwood Tour and Custer State Park

You’ll have a chance on this day to speak with natives of the Lakota tribe as they share live narratives of the legendary Great Sioux Nation. Also available is the Original Deadwood Tour produced by Kevin Costner. The day ends at the beautiful Custer State Park largely known for its breathtaking natural landscape and large wildlife habitat.

DAY 8 The historical monuments of Black Hills, South Dakota

The Black Hills is home to two of the most distinguished monuments in our history. Crazy Horse Memorial recognizes all Native Americans, and Mount Rushmore National Memorial is home to carvings of Presidents Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Roosevelt.  The remainder of the day is open for free exploration through out Custer State Park. The evening includes a Celebration Dinner with newfound travel friends and the Travel Director with reflections on the previous wild west adventures through America’s greatest state parks.

DAY 9 Day of Departure

Sadly, the tour comes to an end just south of Custer State Park in Denver, Colorado. Transfers are available to Denver International Airport at 4:30 pm.
